As part of his undergraduate studies at Pitzer College in Claremont, California, Dr. Gordon was able to study overseas in Beijing, China. Shortly after earning his bachelor’s degree, Dr. Gordon was accepted into medical school. He went on to earn his doctor of medicine degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

Dr. Gordon went through a surgical internship at the Department of General Surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. After successful completion, he was immediately accepted into an orthopedic surgical residency program at the Orthopaedic Surgery Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, also in Philadelphia. He served as administrative chief resident during his residency.

To further his expertise, Dr. Gordon opted to gain additional experience by completing a specialized hand surgery fellowship at the University of Washington in Seattle. He even maintains professional memberships with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, among others.

Throughout his career, Dr. Gordon has been the recipient of several prestigious awards for his knowledge and dedication to research in the field of orthopedic medicine. In 2017 alone, he was awarded twice by the University of Pennsylvania. He earned the DeForest P. Willard, MD award for outstanding performance as a senior orthopedic resident, as well as the F. William Bora Jr., MD award for excellence in upper extremity and hand surgery.
